چکیده

This paper presents an integrated receiver channel and an integrated time-to-digital (TDC) converter fabricated in a 0.35 mm SiGe BiCMOS and in 0.35 mm CMOS technologies, respectively, that give the required performance for a pulsed time-of-flight (TOF) laser radar to be used in a laser scanner in automotive applications. The receiver-TDC chip set is capable to measure the positions and widths of three separate successive timing pulses with sub-ns level precision in a wide dynamic amplitude range of more than 1:10.000.

Omnidirectional Perception for Lightweight Uavs Using a Continuously Rotating 3d Laser Scanner

Many popular unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are restricted in their size and weight, making the design of sensory systems for these robots challenging. We designed a small and lightweight continuously rotating 3D laser scanner—allowing for environment perception in a range of 30 m in almost all directions. This sensor it well suited for applications such as 3D obstacle detection, 6D motion esti...

High-content single-cell analysis on-chip using a laser microarray scanner.

High-content cellomic analysis is a powerful tool for rapid screening of cellular responses to extracellular cues and examination of intracellular signal transduction pathways at the single-cell level. In conjunction with microfluidics technology that provides unique advantages in sample processing and precise control of fluid delivery, it holds great potential to transform lab-on-a-chip system...

Estimating Intrinsic Accuracy of Airborne Laser Data with Local 3d-offsets

Airborne laser systems provide a three-dimensional (3D) perception of the Earth’s topography with clouds of points. Whereas the technique ensures a high theoritical quality, one can observe discrepancies in certain areas. This situation may be of importance in case of joint sensor application, like merging airborne laser scanner with photogrammetry. The first step of a fusion process is to defi...

Occlusion Area as Suitable Guidance for Terrestrial Laser Scanner Localization

Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) technology, have altered quickly data acquisition for map production in surveying. In many cases, it is impossible to complete surveying of the desired area without TLS displacement in one station to another. Occlusion is innate in data acquisition, with this type of device. To solve this problem, TLS devices should be placed in different locations and scanning o...
